Privacy Policy

Reverse Image Search Anywhere is built to be private by default. This page explains exactly what the extension does with your data — and, since the search tool on this website works differently, what that does too.

The short version

  • A normal right-click search with the extension opens a search engine with your image's URL. That request goes straight from your browser to the engine — it never touches our servers.
  • We do not track your browsing, build a profile, or sell any data.
  • An image reaches our servers when the extension has no URL to hand to an engine — “All engines (upload — Instagram/Pinterest)” on a site that hides the image URL, a pasted image, a captured region, or a cropped face — and every time you search with the tool on our homepage, since that tool always uploads. Each upload's link expires 15 minutes later, and once it does nobody can reach the file. The file itself is deleted from our storage automatically, about a day after it arrives.
  • The extension shows no ads and uses no third-party trackers. This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate page views: it sets no cookies, doesn't identify you, and doesn't follow you across sites. Nothing else.
  • The extension's source code is public under the MIT licence, so none of this has to be taken on trust.

What the extension accesses

To reverse-search an image we need to read the specific image you right-click, paste, or capture, and (for region capture) to draw a selection box on the current page. We only act on the image you explicitly choose — never in the background and never on pages you don't interact with.

Two ways to search, two different paths

Using the extension. A normal right-click search sends the image address straight from your browser to the search engine. It never touches our servers. Only when a site hides the real image — Instagram, Pinterest, a canvas, or an image you pasted — does the extension upload a copy so the engines can fetch it.

Using the search tool on this website. Search engines cannot read a file from your device, so every search made with the tool on our homepage uploads the image to our storage (Amazon S3) and hands the engine a temporary link. That link expires 15 minutes later, and once it does nobody can reach the file. The file itself is deleted from our storage automatically, about a day after it arrives. It is never sold and never used to train any model. If you paste an image URL instead of a file, nothing is uploaded at all.

Settings

Your engine preferences are stored in your browser's synced extension storage. They stay in your browser account; we don't receive them.

Third-party search engines

When you run a search, the destination engine (Google, Yandex, Microsoft Bing, or TinEye) receives the image or its URL and is governed by its own privacy policy.

Your rights & contact

Because the link to any upload stops working after 15 minutes, and the file itself is deleted automatically about a day after it arrives, and because we hold no account data for the free product, there is normally nothing to request deletion of.
